Brandon Wiedemann
Brandon was born and raised in Clarkson/Lorne Park. He has resided in Sheridan Homelands with his family since 2011. The father of two young girls, he has worked as a Paramedic in the Region of Peel since 2003. You might see him and his family walking in the community or swimming at David Ramsey Pool. Brandon was happy to receive the nomination for SHORA President. He looks forward to building upon the great work SHORA has already accomplished.
Pieter Kool, Past President
Pieter Kool immigrated to Canada from The Netherlands in 1968, a graduate from Nijenrode University and moved to Sheridan Homelands in the Fall of 1970. He and his wife Edith raised 3 daughters. Pieter has been a SHORA board member since 2008 and has actively promoted Shakespeare in Thorn Lodge Park since. His background in sales and marketing has served him well in attracting advertisers to the bi-annual magazine 'The Voice of Sheridan Homelands'. Pieter is semi-retired but continues to maintain a busy schedule as an associate with David D. Snell Building Services Ltd., and through other volunteer pursuits with the Rotary Club of Mississauga West and Orchestras Mississauga.
Lina Tasca, Treasurer
Lina joined the SHORA Board of Directors as Secretary, in January 2013. She purchased her home in Sheridan Homelands in 1989 and continues to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the community. Lina retired from the Imperial Life Assurance Company of Canada (now Desjardins Financial Services) after 36 years. During her years at Imperial Life, Lina headed the Charitable Donations Committee for many years, and has subsequently continued volunteer work after retirement.
Mona Ankisetty
Mona moved to Sheridan Homelands with her family in 2002. Originally from Romania, she worked in administration and public relations, organising events big and small. Besides spending time with her family, she loves socialising and helping her friends and neighbours. She has been volunteering at Sheridan Park Public School since 2007 and helped with the Stream of Dreams project (the fish on the fence). She presently works as a floral designer in the neighbourhood.
Nate Douglas
Nate grew up in a small town in the Niagara Region, which is why he loves the community feel of Sheridan Homelands. He and his wife were looking for the perfect spot to raise their two children and found it here. Nate is a Director of Marketing for CREW, operating out of Oakville. Prior to CREW, he worked in the marketing departments of McCain Foods and Parmalat, so he knows a lot about French fries and yogurt. In his spare time, Nate loves to run, having completed a half ironman (before kids!), read and be outside. Nate is looking forward to serving the community.
James Johnston
James, wife Shannon and two children have lived in the Sheridan Homelands neighbourhood since 2013, after growing up nearby in Glen Abby, Oakville and Lorne Park, Mississauga. His family enjoys the convenience, safety and caring nature of community. On the SHORA board, James want to support events that bring the community together, improve the park and support charity efforts in the Region of Peel. James earned a BAA in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson University in 2014 and currently works for Rogers Media within Sponsorship Sales and Marketing for NHL programming on Sportsnet.
Leslie Leaver
Leslie is a lifelong resident of Mississauga and moved to Sheridan Homelands with her family in 2011. She is an avid runner completing many races during the year. She is a graduate of Trent University and Georgian College and practices Dental Hygiene in Mississauga.
Phil Li
Phil grew up and spent most of his life in Mississauga, living in Meadowvale, Erin Mills, Streetsville and finally settling down with his family in Sheridan Homelands in 2014. Phil likes to be outdoors with his family and enjoys playing shinny, jogging and most of all eating! Phil has a background in finance and accounting using these skills to support the Public Sector in his daily job. As part of the SHORA team, Phil hopes to see residents happy and for this neighborhood to continue being a great place to live for decades to come.
